11/29/2021 10 Signs of a fake psychicMy purpose for writing this blog post is to educate people that would like to find a good psychic. The more information I can give you, the less chance you’ll have of a negative experience. As a professional psychic I've seen plenty of suspicious and unprofessional behaviors from other “psychics”. I have read from distressed people wondering if they got scammed. In this post I'm sharing the 10 signs I've gathered that will tell you if a psychic is either fake and/or trying to scam you. A fake psychic is someone who is pretending to have psychic abilities. They prey on the vulnerability of people to scam them out of their money. Often people interchangeably use fake psychic and psychic scam as the same thing. A psychic scam is a script that a fake psychic uses to trick you out of your money. It makes sense that someone who is pretending would have to use a script in order to gain money from unsuspecting people. This blog post highlights different parts of this script and the common behaviors of these scammers. The more of these signs you see someone displaying, the more chances are that they are fake and you should walk away. Each psychic works differently, wait until they tell you what information they need from you before volunteering any information to them. Sign #1 - They Ask For Too Many Details Up FrontThey ask for your full name, date of birth, address, job title, and just about anything that makes you identifiable and can be used to find out details about you online. A real psychic only needs ONE type of information from you, it can be a picture of you, or your name, or date of birth. Each psychic works differently, wait until they tell you what information they need before volunteering any information to them. Just going by this one sign doesn’t mean they are fake, but can be a clue when paired with one or more of the following signs. Sign #2 - They Watch For Your Reactions When Giving A ReadingThis is what’s called a cold-reading. A fake psychic who is an amateur cold-reader, will say something and then see how you react. They do this to gauge how close or far away they are from saying something true about you or your situation. Professional cold-readers usually have incredible shows in Vegas. You will find that they don’t use the title of “Psychic” because they know that what they are doing is just a show. Sign #3 - Tells You What You Want To Hear Instead of What You Need to KnowA fake psychic will focus on only giving you positive and hopeful messages even if there is an important message that needs your attention. A fake psychic wouldn’t be able to pick up on valuable information. Just being told that everything will work out without any clear indication of how is not psychic work, that’s just positive reinforcement and a way to keep you coming back for more. In sign #8 I point out how they make you dependent on them. The accuracy of a real psychic depends on their level of expertise, and the strength of the connection to the client. Sign #4 - Claims To Be 100% Accurate (All Of The Time)A fake psychic will claim and make people belief that they can have 100% accuracy. That is only possible if you’re not saying anything of value. This sign also includes making up reviews or deleting negative reviews. To be human is to err. The accuracy of a real psychic depends on their level of expertise, which comes with practice (something scammers aren’t interested in doing), and the strength of the connection to the client. This connection does not need to be fostered, it either exists or it doesn’t and varies within degrees of strength from person to person. The connection is either there from the beginning or it isn't. Sign #5 - Doesn’t Know How to Talk About Their ProcessFake psychics don’t have anything to say about the way they use their psychic abilities or any other tools to help you. There are no clear instructions about what to expect from their sessions or what type of information generally comes through for them. Scammers need to confuse and pressure you in order to take advantage. They will not let you take time to think about working with them and everything needs to happen NOW or else. Keep reading to see how fake psychics use fear to manipulate you. Scammers need to confuse and pressure you in order to take advantage. It is easier to control and manipulate a nervous person. Sign #6 - Tries To Scare You with Scary CommentsA fake psychic will try to get your attention by saying things like: “I see you have negative spirits around you”, or “you have a black cloud of negativity that follows you around”, or “the reason things aren’t going well is because you have a curse”, or similar statements that cause fear in your mind when you are feeling vulnerable. In anything they say, there’s always a condition attached that involves you spending a lot of money on a product or service in order to protect yourself. This point leads me into our next sign. Sign #7 - Charges for Additional Services At Exorbitant AmountsFake psychics heavily rely on providing a variety of services that don’t require psychic abilities. It is much easier to say a few general lines and then up sell you another service. I have seen these fake psychics sell $1,000+ for each of these things. If it sounds too expensive it probably is. You’re allowed to think about it and do a quick online search for typical prices of said items in your area. Extra caution should be given to psychics that employ sign #8 & 9! Sign #8 - Makes You Dependent on Their ServicesAdditionally to charging you absurd amounts of money for simple things, fake psychics will convince you that you need these things NOW before something bad happens to you (Sign #6) or frequently for extended amounts of time! They’ll say THEY need to do it for YOU on a daily basis for days, weeks, or months on end. Like I mentioned in sign #5 they have no sense of process, which also means they have no idea how long something should be engaged with. If they need the money they will add on another day, week, or month until you run out of money. One reading doesn’t seem to be enough. There is always something more that is very urgent and supposedly for your own good. The subject of money brings me to my sign #9. Sign #9 - The Financial Guilt TripFake psychics can also use the financial guilt trip to scam people out of their money. They’ll post announcements like, "I have to pay my rent", or "I’m about to be evicted", or "I need a major surgery" to guilt people into buying a reading that never gets delivered, or if it does it’s very short and offers no helpful or relevant information. Their financial burdens are none of your business or responsibility. Don’t let fake psychics guilt you into taking care of them. And finally the last sign! Sign #10 - Unsolicited Contact As A Selling TechniqueFake psychics are often looking for people they can trick or manipulate. An easy to way to do this is by contacting people for a reading. They may open with a scary comment like I mentioned in sign #6 or they may say something positive and hopeful to try and befriend you. Often times this tactic includes giving you a little bit to see if you’ll bite and, when you do they’ll tell you that you have to pay x amount of money to receive more or the full message. Ask yourself: "How is this helping me?" What Should You Do If You Find Out A Psychic is Fake? The first thing is, if you received a service, and only if you received a service from them you can leave a review pointing out all the behaviors that made you feel uneasy about the experience. That way you can help others know that they weren’t the only ones that felt uncomfortable. The second thing is simply walking away, do not hire them, and if you do be strong enough to cut services that you do not need. Third and last thing is to not believe that they can put a curse on you. To believe it is to give it power even if they don’t do it because chances are they won't and they are just trying to scare you. Know that there are good and honest psychics out there, but it takes some work on your part to find them. Not every psychic out there is going to be good or good for you. Remember if they are real, the connection is either there or it isn't.
I hope this has been informative. The more of these signs a psychic is displaying, the more chances that they are a fake psychic or a scammer. If you’d like to have a real psychic reading with a clairvoyant psychic (one that receives visions) I am available for readings.
